Fun enough. Some thoughts:
- I think the movie had a lot of promise but the final third fell flat
- Rob's acting was on point, and Bong Joon Ho's direction was solid
- Kai and Timo felt like they should have had a bigger role in the end of the story, they kind of just disappeared
- The human replication stuff was interesting, and could have been fleshed out more
Apparently the book is fairly different than the movie
Not necessarily a review here but more of a concept I thought about while watching:
This movie made me think about how we, as humans, tend to assume that animals don't have the same capacity for emotions that we do.
I like to think that this movie is reminding us that animals are in fact capable of feeling friendship, fear, curiosity, anger, etc.
The movie did take some liberties with what the animals can do and feel, like the bird/capybara…
