  Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood 2019

  I did not have high expectations for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got around to watching it. A big help was the fact that I was able to pause the nearly three-hour film halfway through and I went and ate some tacos.
  The cast is good, though writer/director Tarantino doesn’t give Margot Robbie much to do, and the characterizing is great. It was Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth who really stood out.…

  I wanted to like this movie, but ultimately the muddled narrative proved too hard to overcome. The dialogue is clunky and the interconnective plotline doesn't work. Unlike similar films such as Crash, the interconnectivity of the characters sometimes feels forced and too coincidental.
  The cast is great, and the acting is outstanding, particularly K. Todd Freeman, who plays drug addict Joe, who is struggling to go clean. The rest of the cast is good, but Freeman stood out against the likes of Sam Waterston and Glen Close.
  The attempts an epic feel, but falls apart early on and never recovers.
