Spirited Away 2001
Idk if it was due to my headache or because this film is so lovely and endearing, but i found myself sobbing by the end.
I thought studio ghibli was overrated before watching but no, it’s just that good. I love how the soot sprites are here again, and i also love how the worlds in these movies aren’t bleak and depressing. There’s so much beauty and wonder and kindness, no characters are just completely evil.
Its just so creative and masterfully crafted idk what else to say

The Little Mermaid 2023
Better than i expected, but that’s not saying too much. The underwater cgi seemed ok for the most part, but it was made incredibly dull by the blue filters stacked over it. Sebastian’s realistic depiction didn’t bother me as much as i thought it would, but flounder looked horrible. They did flounder SO dirty, it was comically bad. Not to mention the CGI for the hair underwater, i swear i saw it glitch out a few times. The red hair…
