an extremely moving piece. captured a lot of the emotions i felt while on the Holocaust and genocide studies dialogue this summer. the mixture of family, history, and memory within the story made me cry a lot throughout.
i think this movie also tells the story of how we remember the Holocaust and genocides today using the voice of a “common” person in a way that i haven’t seen. memory is inexplicably linked to our everyday but is not discussed due to its painful and revolutionary nature.
