Soundtrack really stole the show. Beautiful to watch and even better to listen to. Acting in it is so expressive and although I wish there was a little more setup with their marriage and I think some later parts weren't completely needed overall it was good pacing and not drug out or anything.
Also, appreciated that the dog lived. Got a little worried for a second.

I really, really want to like this movie. I love gross wtf humor and I do think parts of this are funny, but I can't enjoy them because I couldn't get over the rape scene with the chicken and honestly just the flippancy with non-consensual sex. And this movie makes me feel basic and vanilla for not enjoying those things. Watching the director's cut with the John Waters interview after left me with more questions than answers. Please tell me other people are bothered by the fact that JLC's character is in a relationship with both C. Thomas Howell's character and Swayze's?? I can't think of an age where it would be acceptable to be sleeping with both an 18 year old and however old Swayze is (in real life he was 31 in 1984)? I couldn't get over it
