Such a special experience to watch this in South London's, Cinema Museum on 35mm.
It's a movie that seems to want to be all things: salacious, violent, hilarious and thrilling.
Ultimately it misses more than it hits for me, but the sum was greater than it's parts. I can't deny that for all the things it may have tried to be, this one thing was certain Lynchian.

The strong second half performances can't save this fatally flawed film.
It's messaging is too laboured. The long, expository sequences where characters break the fourth wall or talk to themselves kept reminding me - 'hey, you're watching a movie'. Bergman wrote down some intellectual points and wants you to hear them. At times though generally some interesting ideas are presented, they feel so forced within scenes that they come across sophomoric.
I felt dragged away from engaging with the characters…
