My second experience with Ray Nicholson (first being Smile 2) hasn't improved my impression of him being anything above someone reading their lines. He is constantly outshined by everyone he shares the screen with, from even Eric Dane's safe security guard all the way to Alba Baptista's hilariously captivating psycho. Samara Weaving is meant to play the final girl for as long as she wants to as she once again captures the balance between damsel in distress and badass survivor. There's a fantastic timeline shot earlier in the film but other than that, pacing is sporadic.

Mickey 17 2025
There’s a lot to appreciate with Bong Joon-ho’s no BS straightforward blend of sci-fi and dark comedy, albeit with a sometimes long runtime that could’ve benefited from a few cuts for pacing. Robert Pattinson continues to act his ass off even though he has long since proven his range far exceeds a glittering vampire. A fantastic supporting cast including an over-the-top performance from Mark Ruffalo rounds out a damn good time.

Stree 2 2024
Although I was initially apprehensive given the writing for Bhediya, Amar Kaushik once again delivers a great dark fantasy tale with fun twists and growing lore. In a world where shared universe films are in, the Stree franchise is set to cement itself as Iron Man did for the MCU. We also get a setup for who will hopefully be our shared universe’s big bad, and a premise for Bhediya 2.
