There’s an extremely interesting energy for about the first half of this movie, where, while moving the journalistic journey forward, the world feels to be pressed extremely close to the characters’ heads. They are unable to turn their heads and get a break from the action because the mystery and apprehension feel so close to them. The movie loses that energy before it needs to. But the first half of the film might come the closest to creating a sense of justified persistent anxiety than any other journalism-fueled film in existence.

The Burial 2023
A movie that seems to fail on almost every level but still wasn’t horrible to watch.

Until the End of the World 1991
A film about practicing empathy. Perfect Days, and many of Wenders’ other films, also have this quality for me.
Director’s cut!
