  maybe i misunderstood this one or maybe im just not able to fully grasp its appeal, but i don’t know if i like the idea that autonomy and empowerment are more successfully achievable through the mode of sexual liberation.
  there are moments sprinkled throughout the film that felt genuine; that felt as if she was learning about the inner workings of the world, the good and the bad within it, and ultimately about herself.
  but it just felt largely overshadowed to me…

  the set design and costumes were very pretty tho

  this shit is so ass how the hell did it nearly get as many oscar noms as la la land or oppenheimer, let alone get nominated for BEST PICTURE you have got to be kidding me. and the songs were pISSY CACA WDYM “FROM PENIS TO VAGINA”

  the director literally admitted doing little to no research for this movie rather than actually take the time to learn and understand trans experiences and mexican culture. booooo.
