Captain America: Brave New World 2025
Might be the cute date I was on when I saw it but liked this a touch more than expected. The pacing was strange but I liked some of the vibes. It was better than recent marvel outings and I appreciated the relative lack of jokes.

Deadpool & Wolverine 2024
Buoyed by a phenomenal Hugh Jackman performance. Like all Deadpool movies it follows the same beats and rhythms and structure, simultaneously having way too much sweaty business while also hand waving said business into irrelevance. Its references are so of-the-moment that you can see them deteriorating on the shelf in real time

Reminds me of Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness, but by Mann.
I’m definitely giving it a star/half star more than I should because the vibes are incredibly good, and the moments that work REALLY work for me. Especially in regards to special effects, some of which are truly awesome. Plus, I admittedly overvalue vague/strange/esoteric creepy shit in my movies.
