Notting Hill 1999
Can't stand how posh these fuckers are. Horrified at the thought of the rest of the world thinking this is the average British friend group.
This being your favourite movie has the same vibe as The Office being your favourite show.

The Piano Teacher 2001
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I get why it's considered his best. Just Haneke doing his usual but with a story that suits the style while allowing you to be actually emotionally invested in the characters. Benefits from reading some analysis afterwards as do most of his films as there were plenty of visual and verbal metaphors that I noticed, but couldn't exactly decipher the meanings of in the moment.
Always love how Haneke takes advantage of the medium. Like how Cache is shot on…

Dogma 1999
First Kevin Smith. Clearly he knows how to use a camera, I was impressed by how pleasant all the shots looked I expected this to be way more half-assed than it was.
I had a good time watching but the dialogue needed a lot of cleaning up and Chris Rock and the main lady were really phoning it in, it's not a deep film at all but still I couldn't help but wonder what Kevin Smith was actually trying to…

Collateral 2004
Don't know what I can add to the conversation around this film, it's just so solid. Tom Cruise's personal life is such a tragedy man he's so good at what he does.
Feel as though I can say Michael Mann is one of my favourite directors now, I've seen enough of his films. So much respect for the guy I would kill to have every movie look like this (if it suits). Manhunter is due a rewatch.
