Interesting idea, but drawn out for far too long. Also the end didn't feel entirely earned. When you have a movie this slow, you absolutely have the time to set up everything and yet it wasn't.

Get Away 2024
So sad to watch another disappointing Nick Frost film after the deeply meh Black Cab in December.
I found the very long lead in to the fairly bonkers 3rd act tried my patience. And while I enjoyed a bit of the gore and the violence even the end disappointed me. Really wanted to enjoy this more than I did.

A Creature Was Stirring 2023
Just saw this, and it was so much fun. Original creature design. Leaned heavily into using christmas lights for some saturated Argento lighting. Some great moments of comedy like Declan Connor saying "So that body positivity thing is really hot." He does fuckboi oustandingly well. The rest of cast is also strong.
The writing gets a little muddy, and the movie drags a little in the middle. But overall a great ride.
