The writing is what stands out the most in this unique story of grief. Worth a rewatch to see if you missed anything before the ending.

I know the cast were fighting for their lives watching Jim Carrey’s performance.
A movie that magnifies the ethical and moral dilemma of war journalism in an ambiguous civil war that could be simplified to “kill or be killed”. The characters felt bland at times, the only identifiable trait among the group was their shared passion for journalism.
The movie itself had plenty of beautiful shots, very picturesque scenes that encapsulated the horror of war while also providing little to the protagonist of the film or the plot.
Great performances all around, beautiful film that perfectly captures the fears of 1830s Germany. Wish I watched this without a loud and immature person sitting right behind me.
