I categorically loved this movie. Occult horror is probably my favorite genre- too rare and usually too on the nose. This movie made you think. Spoiler- I believe Cage is the incarnation of Satanic prince Baal- ashy skin, changes shape, the children references. Excellent performance from Cage, the physicality of the role I think he portrayed excellently. Sooooooooo good!
The Substance 2024

Infeasible, tepid, condescending, no story line or depth, no character development or detail, gore for the sake of gore, hypersexualization that just slams you in the face over and over again for no reason. This story is not a new one and it was poorly told. The one star is for sound design, which was fantastic.
