An interesting sometimes abstract experiment about a heavy and grounded subject. The mind can be free even when the body isn’t. Everyone is a piece of the universe. Sometimes the first person or sometimes behind the head concept holds the movie back. I don’t feel like I got to know these characters in any deep way. I was able to experience what they did more intimately, but this perspective resulted in the audience being more separate from the characters themselves.…

Better Man 2024
It’s insane how good this is considering I don’t like almost any of the music. They crushed it. The narration, the effects, the pacing. It’s simple and this story has been told, but it’s all so well executed. The chimp is really emotive. The comedy is pretty funny. The emotional moments mostly hit. I love how the world is reactive to Robbie. It feels like an old fashioned musical in that way. It’s not afraid to go really big or really small. It’s patient when it needs to be. It’s too bad it flopped cause this deserves attention.
