    Wow I think I need to see it one more time.

    Of course a woman realisator makes a documentary about her family history tied up to one country history and uses puppets to reanact the scenes....of course I'm in !!!

    The concept is magnificent, Asmae el Moudir is very sensible and intelligent, the puppets are incredible. I loved it !! Now let me watch it again because I sat in the theatre without any idea of how deep this was going to be and there is a lot to unpack.

    I felt in my heart that the first film of the year needed to be on the 1st and needed to be by Jonas Mekas ❤️

    This one had a much sadder and tragical feeling than the other ones I saw, which makes sense. Jonas gives us his usual hopeful and loving pov on his Lithuania friends and family. I was very moved by this guy who gave hay to sleep in to his guests and proceeded to hide it…
