De Niro as Capone was ok. Was fairly one dimensional and not distinct enough of a role.
Sean Connery as Malone was the standout of the movie. His death felt slightly premature for how big of a role he seemed to have.
I think the movie took itself too seriously at times. Also many of the scenes (like the first raid on the alcohol storage facility) felt more about presenting a spectacle rather than adding exposition or contributing to the story.
