Night Is Short, Walk On Girl 2017
Hyperbole is all I (usually) have to describe transformative artistic experiences so:
The best fever dream I’ve ever had. The best depiction of fledgling love ever put on screen (yes, even moreso than Love Exposure). The most heartwarming climax in cinema history.
This to me is an established visual artist at the height of his genius.

The Gleaners and I 2000
This was my first Agnes Varda experience, and definitely won't be my last. A fascinating parallel is drawn - in much the same way the gleaners find food that is well beyond passable among the seemingly inedible scraps of every harvest, Agnes portrays how the seemingly uncouth network of people living on these scraps turn out to be passionate, caring members of society. Varda's documentary style undoubtedly influenced How To With John Wilson, which is one of my favorite TV shows ever. Genius.
