Wow. What a ride. It's like the A24 version of pretty woman. Except noone dies in a grotesque or unexpected way. And let me be the first to say, what a breath of fresh air it was to watch a movie that wasn't in it for the shock value. Just an incredible story told in an incredible straightforward way keeping you at the edge of your seat the entire time.

Fuck this movie. Yeah, it's shot beautifully and has some incredible talented actors, but it's a dumb lengthy epic that pretends to be deep when it's just a random assortment of random stories about people in cults doing random stupid shit. At one point, I thought maybe it was trying to say something interesting and it just punches you in the face with a completely disgusting rape scene. I felt sick to my stomach and should have turned it off at that point because I really didn't see any redeeming qualities at all. Watching this was such a waste of time.

    So, yeah, fuck this movie.

By far one of craziest movies I've seen in a long time.

It's like Cinderella but during a really bad DMT trip with the Benny Benassi "Satisfaction" or the Eric Prydz "Call on Me" music video playing and influencing your horror trip.

This was a wonderful piece of art. There was so many different subtexts being simultaneously told that I may need to watch this a few more times to fully understand this film. But it was shot absolutely beautifully, the sound design was incredible, it had influences from 70s/80s era films, and built suspense just as well as other modern horror films like the The VVitch and Midsommar. Will absolutely watch again someday once I recover from this initial viewing.
