I was initially hesitant upon viewing this film, having seen masses of Sue edits infiltrating my feed with little of the main protagonist, Elisabeth. This is present throughout the film, relishing in Sue’s young sexualised body whilst failing to give her substance. Demi Moore’s performance was enticing, her lived experiences translate dismally to her character falling victim the all-consuming beauty myth. Through intentional camerawork, her natural body is portrayed as the epitome of abjection which is quite heartbreaking to watch.…

Climax 2018
This film has clung to my mind. It captured the sensations of hallucinogenics despite only showing the characters bodily reactions to what they’re experiencing. To watch everyone regress to animalistic tendencies out of fear was confronting and honestly a terrible viewing experience with interludes of prolonged dance sequences and superficial conversations. The grotesque nature of the film makes it all more engaging.
