This is without a doubt the most ridiculously entertaining film I have ever seen.
Woo throws everything AND the kitchen sink into this fast paced flick from excessive slo-mo shots, to doves, to quadruple mexican standoffs and SO. MUCH. MELODRAMA!
A subtle film it certainly is not.
Initially the plan was to cast Stallone and Schwarzenegger as the lead characters and no disrespect to either actor but thank GOD they didn't!

Amelie is one of those films where I can't quite express how god damn charming it is!
The red and green colour palette that should be obscene is RIDICULOUSLY beautiful and wholly indicative of the unique character for which it's actualized for. The characters are SO likable and not at all pretentious (something which I admit was my biggest fear going into this film!) with a script that doesn't pander or condescend the viewer.
