  Wes at his most artificial. The framing is deliberately transparent, forcing the audience to walk around the construction and notice where the seams are. Reflecting on his process, while executing it at the highest level, and in spite, or maybe because, of this it delivered some moments with more emotional weight than he has in a while. Loved this.

  Calling a film haunting is such a cliche at this point as to be basically meaningless, and yet I feel haunted by Cure. I see it in a leaky faucet, in a flickering lighter. I hear it in the howling wind. "Who are you?"

  Extremely my shit. A hood samurai following an ancient code as everything is changing around him. A decrepit and bumbling mafia, trying to kill time before its all over, just watching cartoons and dodging their landlord. Waxing poetic from city rooftops and stolen cars in the middle of the night. An ode to dreamers and those lost in the past.
