The Internship 2013
Comedies from the late 2000s and early 2010s will always have a special place in my heart. This is real cinema. Something that helps you escape from reality and makes you feel. It doesn’t have to be about complex feelings or overly complicated plots that spin your mind. The key is in the simplicity of it all, to make you laugh and feel a sense of empathy for the characters, to feel like you’re apart of their journey.
Yeah sure it has a happy ending which is typical but what’s wrong with typical anyways? This was a really great watch. Made me laugh made me smile.

The Royal Tenenbaums 2001
Every time I see a movie poster of Anderson’s work, I think of it as an empty overrated project with nice colours and a whimsical feel to lure people in. However, I am pleasantly surprised every time. This project, in particular, was filled with such a strong theme of regret, love, care, pain and joy. Lots of humour as well.
The constant continuous wide shot of all the characters in one frame emphasises the feeling that they are all connected…
