    I had pretty low expectations and zero context going in so I was pleasantly surprised, the first 30 minutes are pretty cheesy and not very good but it sort of starts cooking after that and the middle of the movie is highly enjoyable and has some very fun, theatrical performances especially the two sibling emperors who are GIVING DOUBLE YOUNG JOAQUIN PHOENIX and an A Tier performance from Denzel Washington who carries this movie on HIS BACK.     Don’t judge a book by its cover, former bodybuilder and future California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger truly cemented his status as an unlikely 90’s camp icon in this perfectly paced Meet The Parents meets Uncut Gems “thriller for kids”, with incredible supporting performances by Phil Hartman (RIP) and Sinbad, another perfect time capsule movie for a pre-Amazon, pre-e-commerce Christmas scenario. It’s high time for a remake (starring John Cena?)!!
