Judy & Punch 2019
Favorite narrative of the festival so far. Catered completely to my interests. Puppets, art direction, female lead and empowerment. The concept devolves from a performative Punch and Judy to a literal Punch (and) Judy with Judy getting her revenge.

Blinded by the Light 2019
Gurinda Chadna is one of my favorite directors. The stories she chooses to tell are so personal to her which makes them universal to all. The story is about a boy who becomes obsessed with Bruce Springsteen and believes he is speaking directly to him while his dad expects more from him. I laughed, I cried. Very cookie cutter in the shooting style but the content is what pulls me to Gurinda’s work. Amazing.
