Persuasion 2022
I have to admit the first time I watched this I absolutely hated it and swore off watching it again. However…I feel I may have been a little swayed by the general hate around the film. Look maybe it caught me at the right time in the second watch but I actually kinda enjoyed it??

Eighth Grade 2018
An uncomfortably relatable and realistic portrayal of being a slightly awkward 13yr old. I completely saw myself in Kayla and hated that it unearthed memories that I wish stayed buried. An incredibly strong feature debut by Bo Burnham that had me viscerally reacting the whole way through. Waves of full body cringes and eye watering sympathy.

One the best of Austen adaptations! Autumn De Wild built such an edible gorgeous world lined with those pastel colours, every shot is truly breathtaking. The whole cast has this incredibly funny and polite chemistry with many scenes filled with such uptight British tension and ridiculous hair. Casting Josh O’Connor as Mr Elton is inspired!
