  The perfect dark comedy to me - Heathers doesn't try to be more than it is. It does what it does and does it well!! Some unforgettably hilarious lines and the fashion just takes it to the next level.

  The tone and pacing felt so inconsistent to me? I thought I was in on the joke one second and completely confused the next. Was this supposed to satirize the news industry or celebrate it? Plus, Jane's opinion of these men was confounding to me - she'll allow someone to yell at her like Aaron did but draws the line at some light editorializing by a junior newsman to make a serious issue more newsworthy and watchable? Definitely some cute and funny moments but just not consistent and none of the characters were likeable to me.

  fun!! truly impossible to forgive mitch for what he does on the beach when abby! is! right! there!

  otherwise tightly paced with tom cruise in the role he was born to play - a cocky self-righteous lawyer who is somehow also loveable/relatable (because he was poor?). lots of ironic parallels between the firm and Scientology. fantastic ensemble cast.
