For me, ‘Fight Club’ was a surprisingly multi-faceted film, a scathing work on the condition of societies “everyman”, a deep dive into the festering subconscious of “the man behind the cubicle divider”. In hindsight, Fight Club’s actuality is largely overshadowed by the cult of (primarily) male fans who fail to recognise the faux-edgy (and laughable) nature of the nihilistic commentary provided by ‘The Narrator’, and the brutish life philosophies of his alter-ego ‘Tyler Durden’.
