I was surprised in such a good way by this movie! It’s a really cool concept. I would recommend watching without seeing a trailer or reading much about it ahead of time.

Wow, this one affected me. It was hard to watch at times, but it’s such a powerful story. I appreciate how the story is broken up into chapters titled the different names given to Chiron (by his peers, his mother, Kevin). This fits nicely into the theme of how others try to define us, how oftentimes and especially when we’re young and impressionable “all we can do is what folks think we should be doing,” but how ultimately we shouldn’t…
