I really loved the design of all the characters, I like how Bakshi portrays everyone as imperfect. Since i'm watching this in 2025, the overt racism feels icky. But I also think when a film brings up those feelings, it in fact succeeded, and is an important reminder of the times. I cannot help but appreciate the artistry in this little OVA. I was not expecting the stop motion at the begning, it was a real treat. And the behind the scenes footage just added to it. I think a lot of love went into this. I'm curious if it inspired Taiyo Matsumoto's "No.5", there are a lot of stylistic similarities.
