  The concept lends itself to be absolutely bonkers, but it's a slog to get through. It's way too slow and it just needed more gore, very tame for an R rated movie.

  Ariana Debose feels miscast, she's just not engaging at all. The film leans far too heavily on narration, as though it were tailored for an audience struggling to keep up. It’s as if the filmmakers decided to spoon-feed the plot to us, even though the scenes that contained narration, were extremely easy to understand.

  There's undeniable talent involved, but something about it misses the mark.
