I was definitely confused for most of the movie. Towards the end some things started to come together, but for the most part it thrived on being bizarre. For the time it was released the effects were more shocking and revolutionary than in 2025. Being able to tell the difference between real and fake very clearly, helped to disconnect you a little bit, which was a positive for me.
