  “i’m not queer, lee.”
  being a gay man can be so confusing. seeking attraction, never knowing how the other parties fully feel. at the same time, knowing they will never want you the same way. at times physically yes, but never emotionally. the chase. the eventual let down. this is a common cycle for gay men that is played out so eloquently here.

  i remember finding this when i was eleven and clinging onto it for dear life. i think i watched it about 5 times the first week i found it. every time i watch it it feels the first time. its so magical and cozy. i will never get enough of this one. i love you hayao miyazaki thank you so much. you have such a special place in my heart.  🧡

  i was more captivated by this than i’d like to admit. i really liked the dialogue in this one. smartly written and sharp. i liked the idea of the cat and mouse game being more about conversation rather than him chasing through this house the whole time. i read that this is what it would seem like to be stuck in a conversation about religion with a grandparent for far too long, and i couldn’t agree more.
