The Changeling (1980) - One of horror's greatest haunted house movies. Yes, it's a slow-burn, but heavens-to-Betsy, this flick proves that you don't need jump scares or gore to make your skin crawl. Don't believe me? Just ask anyone that has seen that damned red ball come bouncing down the stairs.

George C. Scott plays a grieving composer who moves into an old mansion after his wife and kid bite the dust in a tragic accident (what an opener!). But…

    Critters 2 (1988) – Fur, Fangs, and Deep-Fried Mayhem!

The sequel surpasses the original flick in every way. It's Critters 1, Ghoulies, Gremlins and Hobgoblins all mushed together.

The story picks up two years after the events of the first movie, with young Brad Brown rolling back into Grover’s Bend, just in time for another round of carnivorous furball chaos. Some local moron finds leftover Crite eggs, thinks they’re Easter decorations, and before you can say β€œman-eating Furby,” they’re chomping…

The Wolf Man (1941) β€” Starring Lon Chaney Jr, the film features some of the most iconic werewolf makeup in movie history.

Legendary artist Jack Pierce didn’t mess around. He spent hours each day gluing layers of loose yak hair onto Chaney’s face, one painstaking strand at a time. The work paid off, creating an iconic monster that looked way better than could have been achieved with a rubber mask.

    Watch it on Amazon.

The Mummy (1959) - Christopher Lee stomps around (and performs his own stunts) as the undead Kharis, bringing pain to every fool who disturbs his tomb. He was wrapped so tightly in his costume that he couldn't even sit down between takes.

Meanwhile, Peter Cushing plays the tweed-wearing intellectual hero, using nothing but British snark and a shotgun to stop him. Thick on fog, mood, and eerie Egyptian curses, this flick oozes gothic atmosphere.

Hammer reused props from The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) for this flick, which also starred Lee and Cushing.

Watch The Mummy on Amazon Prime.

Nope (2022) - I definitely enjoyed it (I went to an IMAX showing on opening night). The cinematography was fantastic. Great soundtrack. Actor Daniel Kaluuya (from Get Out) conveyed so much from the smallest facial expressions... a wonderful performance.

I won't spoil the movie for you. From the trailer, we know that this has something to do with a UFO, a cowboy theme park, and a horse ranch... but I'll just add that at its core, this is a MONSTER…

Move over, Pennywise. There's a new sadistic child killer in town - THE GRABBER - complete with an iconic costume that is sure to become a Halloween favorite.

The film is an adaptation of a 2004 short story written by Joe Hill - the son of horror writer Stephen King.
