Lived up the the hype I would say. Awesome classic action and king fu movie. Very funny and lighthearted vibe. Nice change from the serious cinema I have been feasting on with it being Oscar season.

Awesome epic film about an immigrant in America. I think Adrian Brody did amazing and the plot was solid and did not feel overly drawn out. However for such a long movie I would have liked to see a slower build up of the plot and characters. At points it felt like you weren’t watching a movie but just a story about a man’s life, thus when I found out it wasn’t a true story I found myself frustrated at the choppy speed of the plot and the often meek character of Laslo Toth. But perhaps this is what makes it so realistic.

At first I was like what is this corny ass, 50 shades of gray lookin movie. Then BAAM it got insane. There were some slow and very corny parts, but the plot and twists of the movie were heart wrenching and heart warming at the same time. Giving at least an extra half star or star because I really appreciate the realistic way they showed the difficult topics of the film, which many movies do not do.

Absolutely incredible movie, one of the best I have seen in months. Crazy explorer vibes and an awesome sense of adventure. Aside from some small discrepancies (eg Brad pitts poor German accent) the movie really envelops you in the story. It being true makes it that much more tragic. Free Tibet till it’s backwards.
