What is the stark didacticism in text & symbol, when taken in with the performed erudition in collage? What is the sense of bodily ejection produced by the film’s direct address to the first person, always Black?

  The selfsame impotence which wets the bed allows him to give life to a plant, suggesting abuse is the kernel of both the later successes and failures we learn to couch in it, endlessly. For that it’s not very interesting to me. Neither truly stem from it. Battery is the one and only thing I always give myself the grace to ignore, and I choose to rather than remain at the scene.
