  Phantasm 1979

  Phantasm is an odd one for me. The series really takes off towards the end of the first movie and creates a spectacular fantasy horror setting throughout the second and third film. The fourth and fifth start to open up the lore further leaving the viewer with a plethora of questions. Then….nothing.

  The only issue is that the gap between the series and the last movie was more than 20years (?) bringing complications to the story like the age of…

  The best musical of 2022? In the Heights is a solid candidate for this with a great portrayal of minority communities and their struggles in modern day New York City. 
  Coming in at 2hrs23m this does seem to lull a little in the middle but as it is a musical it can be forgiven for its length.
  Being released the same year, I feel like this is Disney’s Ecanto’s cooler, older sibling.
