watched this as a result of everyone telling me it was better than encanto
i went into this knowing nothing and was pleasantly surprised at how deeply and creatively the movie goes into mexican culture and the traditions surrounding dios de los muertos. the last 10 minutes of the movie had me crying fr fr
i found the plot completely predictable and the afterlife society kinda lame, but appreciated that the songs were fun and minimal lol

saw this one in theatres with chloe ❤️ and kev then had a post-movie dinner debrief
overall the movie felt pretty all over the place and thematically commitmentless, riding off of the fame of bong joon ho and robert pattinson to keep it afloat... well acted and shot for sure, but poor writing and direction. will not deny i had some genuine laughs™
