  A perfect sequel in concept. Near-perfect in execution. 
  Give me more time in Io. Give me more talking about how much better the world is/could be be through collaboration and graft. Give me more of Morpheus’s tragic inflexibility. Give me more hand-holding over delicious coffee 🥺.

  A splurging of thoughts:

  Pros (many of which get undercut by a con):
  - Rey and Kylo's mind-skypes.
  - Rey's force lightning moment.
  - D-O is my spirit droid.
  - Babu Frikk WAHEEEYYY.
  - THAT moment after the final mind-skype which pays off some incredible setup.
  - Some great action setpieces. Running down corridors with clarity of purpose. Weighty chases. Emotionally charged duels.
  - The bones of Kylo/Ben's reversal works for me in the moment, even if it's underwritten on…

  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 2022

  This is a 4* mostly for visual flair, interesting editing, fun/gross surprises and schlocky Sam Raimi horror.

  It’ll drop a little when I start giving a shit about its frantic plot and sacrificial support cast (Chavez gets so little to do, and I don’t think I should be enabling my own excuse of “but no doubt they’ll give her the spotlight eventually”).  Today though I don’t care about all that, I had a blast.
