The 12th Man 2017
Watching that guy go through hell and chose to continue going through it all for the sake of national hope was actually surprisingly gripping.
I was less interested in some of the secondary characters but I understand that they're necessary so that you know what the main guy is basically doing it all for.
I do also think this could have been shaved down to the sub two hour mark and been much more enjoyable to sit through but it was a good movie to watch with a dad.

Maybe things were different in 1997 but the true horror was the agonizingly slow pace of this movie. No amount of "no, the real question is who are you?" makes this psychological or introspective more than it makes it annoying.
