I was looking forward to seeing this Oscar-nominated 2024 film, and I enjoyed the first part of this three hours and 35 minute long epic. The post-WW2 European Jewish immigrant story, setting the scene, the need to fit in to the new country, make a go of it. The United States of America post-war -- its ways, its society, not standing out too much, changing names, changing religion, fitting in, anything to fit in and get on ok.
