  Loved the acting and the ambiance of this film but the last ten minutes sort of ruined it for me!!! Too much explaining/showing that could have been left implied. The tack in the bike, the money at the pub. It felt heavy-handed and less effective as an ending.

  loved how organic, communicative, and exploratory the sex scenes were. full of nicole kidman's character working through shame and embarrassment and really implicating the audience along with her. the pacing and plot was simple but the acting and the rising tension was not. i loved what the movie had to say and i need more art to keep saying it

  EDIT: lowering this to 3.5 stars after someone else pointed out to me that samuel's motives as a character were flimsy. i agree!
