At the drive-in in 1973, at age of 6, saw Save the Tiger instead of Charlotte's Web.

The Wrecking Crew 1968
From that brief period of film scores with breezy group vocals that went, “bada-bada-ba-BAAAA-baaaaa-ba-badada-ba-daaaaaa,” which if you’re with me, also gives you a visual re: fashion, architecture, and sense of humor.

The Gamblers 1970
Don Gordon was a dead ringer for John Saxon. The Gamblers deserves to be better known—but not much better. Feels like it’s based on a vastly superior Elmore Leonard book. Recommended, because it’s been difficult to see for decades and now there’s a very nice version on Midnight Pulp despite some sound issues.

Smash-Up on Interstate 5 1976
Near the beginning of this, the narration says 14 will die in the smash-up, and by the middle I had strong opinions on who they should be.

Banning 1967
Robert Wagner plays "Banning" as a charmless stick of wood, though this seems to be an unfortunate acting choice rather than limited ability. The film is a western posing as a golf course melodrama, and it's no accident this subgenre never caught on.
Still I defend this movie and recommend it, strongly. It was released in 1967, but was either shot a few years earlier, or in a pre-Woodstock pressure chamber for generations thoroughly unprepared for what we currently understand…
