‘Emilia Pérez’ is undoubtedly one of the most talked-about movies of the year — though that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s one of the best, despite the numerous awards it has won so far. With a brutal premise that had all the potential to make history, the film takes a surprising turn (in the worst way possible) and ends up being a collection of clichés and poor decisions, almost redeemed by an impeccable cast.

Deeper than I imagined, the film reflects emotions such as loneliness in the field of friendship, anguish and overcoming. The fact that it is a film without dialogue makes it even more special and exciting.
