  Captain America: Brave New World 2025

  Criticising a Marvel movie for being too safe and corporate is like criticising water for being too liquid. Nevertheless, that is the problem with this film. Despite a fundamentally political premise, with a black Captain America going up against the President of the United States, it refuses to say anything about it. It feels like there was once a point, but various rewrite, reshoot, and studio notes have sanded it down to a nub. While the movie is well made and shot, and features some great acting from Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford and Tim Blake Nelson, it is all in service of a truely forgettable movie.

  A fantastic political thriller, acted brilliantly. The use of juxtaposition between the modern and the ritual/tradition created fantastic atmosphere that paralleled the discussions on the changing nature of the Catholic Church brilliantly.
