Felt myself rooting for everyone despite it all. A wonderful blend of slapstick comedy with sly references that reward an attentive viewer, Hundreds of Beavers is silly on the surface but unexpectedly intelligent.
I started watching this after a long week, a long start to the year, feeling a little hungry, a little tired, and not entirely opposed to the idea of being drunk, much like Jean himself. Jean’s journey from applejack peddler to fur-trapping Sisyphus felt less like escapism…
