The Lighthouse 2019
Rewatched recently and it becomes more daunting every time. This is eggers at his film making peak, blending the crushing harshness of reality with the behind of surrealism, you don’t know if it’s a dream or a nightmare. Ever question that gets answered raising 5 more new questions, an ever growing labyrinth of a film. This will be his ‘Stalker’, this will be the cult classic that eggers is remembered for. It delivers where Nosferatu doesn’t, and its time period is within touching distance. His best by far.

Good lord this guy doesn’t miss!! Sensational, visceral, atmospheric and bonkers in a beautiful cronenberg fashion. Incredible performances and I loved the grade, that muted tone made it all feel like a serial killers reality check as they talk through their crimes. I loved Possessor, and this is just as amazing.
