I’ve never seen so much love for the Sonic franchise poured into this movie. They had a fantastic blend of game plot and deliberate omissions for the sake of the movie continuity (the addition of his henchman adds a lot more to this eggman than i’d like to admit). The mid and end credits did a fantastic job of generating hype for the next installment, teasing a bit of the plot without giving away too much.

Watched it with my very first true love. We both showed up 30 minutes early, and of course, I spilled the popcorn bucket before the trailers even started.
But neither of us were expecting the wonderful, bittersweet rollercoaster of emotions that this movie had in store for us. The swap from the fairy-tale happy ending, to the sudden, real, melancholy ending, left us both feeling so empathetic to them, but in time, it all made sense.
It’s a powerful message…
