The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
Despite numerous inaccuracies and omissions, the strongest point of the film lies in the fellowship: all of the characters are so masterfully written, built up, portrayed, that one can't help but fall in love with them by the end. A wonderful introduction to the trilogy.
