    I really liked this one. McAdams is super charming and I really thought the chemistry with grumpy Harrison Ford was fantasticly funny. One minor drawback is that they didn’t utilize Diane Keaton’s character better (cause she definetly showed her worth in “Something’s Gotta Give”  up against another old grumpy classic actor in Jack Nicholson).

    A special mention is that the movie was shot and edited really, really well. It gives it a fast, snappy energy, but with well composed shots…

    I’m always excited to watch Alex Garland’s work. The quality may vary, but one thing is certain - it feels fresh.

    While for sure you can spot some parallels from his other work, I really think he does an excellent job in not repeating his previous work and rely on reccuring cast members or visual styles like other directors might do.

    You feel that it’s diverse, that it’s new… that Garland is kinda experimenting and having fun - almost taking things…

    Movies like this one makes me wonder if it’s a good thing that filmmaking has become so accessable nowadays, that anyone can make a movie. Maybe it should just be left to the John Ford-types aka the longtime pros who never would have made anything as meaningless as this.
